Oral Hygiene

If no check-ups are done and poor oral hygiene prevails it can lead to the development of gingivitis and later, periodontitis. Periodontitis is a form of gum inflammation which damages soft tissue and destroys the bone which supports your teeth. Research suggests that periodontitis aids the development of heart disease, diabetes and even increases the risk of stroke.

Therefore it is extremely important that our patients follow a strict oral hygiene routine to maintain their oral health and overall wellbeing. At Dulwich Dental we aim to assist you to follow an effective oral hygiene plan which should include:

  • Flossing daily
  • Brushing twice daily
  • Regular check-ups every 6 months to monitor your oral health, detect and treat any potential problems before they can cause a more serious issue
  • Having your teeth cleaned professionally every six months to remove any plaque buildup

If it has been a while since you checked in with a dentist contact our friendly team to make an appointment.
